A saint and an ardent devotee of Shri. Samartha Ramdas and Acharya on Shri. Bhagwat, Shri. Akkaswami Velankar alias Ashalata Chintamanrao Velankar, started the “Detailed study program of Shri. Dasbodh”, in 1984. From 1984 to 1997, Shri. Akka was conducting all the activities of the program all alone. From 1997-2012 she entrusted the responsibility of conducting the program to late Shri. Vasantrao alias Tatyasaheb Gadgil from Nagpur. During 2012-2018 Late Shri. Suhas Agarkar of Pune was entrusted with this responsibility of conducting the program. Since 2018, Dr. Vijay Lad, who has settled in Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) after leaving the city of Nanded, is holding the position of director and he is handling this responsibility of conducting the program very efficiently. As of today, the program is working systematically and successfully, as was visualized by Shri. Akka. It is progressing successfully.

“What to study after completion of an introductory three-year study program?” was the query from students and as an answer to it, based on this popular demand, the innovative idea of designing a comprehensive study program on Shri. Dasbodh flowered in the mind of Shri. Akka and hence this program was prepared by Shri. Akka Velankar. She prepared 200 question papers as a self-study (Swadhyaya) material and these are based on each of the chapters of Shri Dasbodh. In this study program, Shri. Akka has skillfully and comprehensively included the study of “Manache Shloka” a treatise written by Shri. Samartha and Shri. Bhagvad Gita and the biography of Shri. Samartha Ramdas along with the main study of Dasbodh. This is the result of Shri. Akka’s skill as a teaching professional. Thus, the task of developing an ardent spiritual seeker becomes easy! Because of this aspect, the program has a special status in the sect of Shri Samarth Sampradaya and this initiative is moving successfully in an energetic manner.
